AM drive to the Hassan. En- route visit Belur and Halebid, one of the finest specimens of Hoysalan architecture. At Belur the temple of Lord Channekeshava is embellished with superb carvings of deities, animals and friezes depicting the life and times of Hoysala rulers. Halebid was the seat of Hoysala Kingdom, its great Hoysaleswara Temple was also built in the typical Hoysala style of architecture.

AM excursion to Hampi. En- route visit Hazara Rama Temple, it was built in 15th century, In older times, it used to be the royal family’s private place for worship. Another interesting aspect of the temple is that it is the only shrine in the capital that has its external walls decorated with bas- reliefs. Continue visit Lotus Mahal. This monument has fine structure which represents Hindu Sikharas. These Sikharas has horizontal pyramidal where music concerts were held for the royal family in earlier times. Octagonal watch tower is also seen there.
At Hampi visit Virupaksha Temple. It believed that this temple has been functioning uninterruptedly ever since its inception in the 7th century AD. This makes it the one of the oldest functioning temples in India, also it is a part of UNESCO group of monuments. Continue visit VITTALA temple. It was originally built in the 15th century AD. Many successive kings have enhanced the temple campus during their regimes to the present form.
