Day by Day Journey

Day 01

On arrival at Ahmedabad International airport, meet, assist & transfer to the hotel. Afternoon visit Gandhinagar – Akshardam Temple & the Adalaj Stepwell.

The elaborately ornamented, underground wells are dedicated to dieties, acknowledging the hand of God in providing life-sustaining water.

AM embark on a heritage walk, a maze of crowded bazaars, exquisitely carved facades, temples, mosques and subterranean step-wells mark the 3 km square that makes up the Old city. Later visit the Swaminarayan Temple & Shreyas Folk art museum.

Day 03

Ahmedabad – Modhera – Patan – Dasada

In the morning drive to Modhera where your will visit the Sun Temple. The temple is so precisely laid out in an east-west direction that the sun's rays course through its chambers and strike the center of the inner sanctum at high noon every day.

Later visit the Patan which boasts of more than 100 beautifully carved Jain temples. Also visit the Rani ka Vav a UNESCO World Heritage Site & the Sahastralinga Talav stepwells. Later drive to Dasada.

AM visit the Little Rann of Kutch by jeeps. An expanse of salt flats and grasslands in northwest Guajarat, the little Rann of Kutch has a stark and unforgettable beauty – in sunlight, the salt crystals in the sand glitter like diamonds, while at night they bathe the landscape in an eerie blue haze.

This unique ecosystem, which supports a variety of rare fauna, form a wildlife sanctuary which is one of the last refuges of the Asiatic wild ass.

Dasada – Mt. Abu

AM drive to Mt. Abu. On arrival checkin at the hotel. PM visit the Dilwara Jain marble five temple group situated on the hill, which has intricate and delicate carvings and sculptural details on the doorways, archways, pillars, niches and ceiling of these breathtaking temples.

Later visit the Nakki lake, ringed by colonial mansions and summer palaces of the Rajput rulers. The Toad's Rock overlooks the lake and offers spectacular views from a stone terrace at sunset.

Mt. Abu – Ranakpur – Udaipur

Am drive to Udaipur. En-route visit Ranakpur, a secluded, wooded valley of the Aravalli Hills, the 15th Century Ranakpur temple complex, dominated by the great Adinath Temple, is one of the five great holy places of Jain faith. Each of the temples 1,444 pillars is carved with different patterns of floral motifs, and the play of light and shadow on the pillars, as the sun moves from east to west each day, is one of the glories of this monument. Later continue drive to Udaipur.

AM visit the City Palace which stretches along the eastern shore of Lake Pichola, is a fascinating combination of Rajput military architecture and Mughal-style decorative techniques. The largest palace in Rajasthan, the City palace is actually a complex of several palaces much of it is a museum now, and parts of it are luxury hotels.

Later visit Bagore ki Haveli, a splendid museum exhibiting Udaipur's traditional arts and crafts, costumes, musical instruments and marble-work. Also visit the 18th century retreat, Sahelion ki Bari or the "Garden of the Maids of Honour".  PM sunset boat cruise on the picturesque Lake Pichola with its romantic island palaces, the dominating massive City Palace, havelis, ghats and temples that line the lake front.

AM excursion to Amber fort. En-route photostop at Hawa Mahal known as “the palace of winds”, with its ornate pink facade has become an icon for the city. The tiered Baroque like composition of projecting windows and balconies is five storeys high.

Amber Fort a UNESCO World Heritage which is at a short distance of 11 kms from Jaipur. The old capital of the Kachhwahas stands atop a range of craggy hills. You can take elephant ride from the base of the fort to the hilltop. Fort offers panoramic view of Maota Lake and the historic old town at the base of the hill. Embark on an Elephant ride to the top of the Fortress.

PM visit city palace & observatory. The sprawling complex is a superb blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, with open airy Mughal - style public buildings leading to private apartments. Its treasures, which include miniature paintings, manuscripts, Mughal carpets, musical instruments, royal costumes and weaponry, provide a splendid introduction to Jaipur's princely past, and it's fascinating arts and crafts.

Jantar Mantara UNESCO World Heritage, translated into 'Instruments of Measuring the Harmony of the Heavens', it was built by Sawai Jai Singh II between 1728 and 1734. Jantar Mantar is a grand celebration of astronomical science and each instrument here perform a particular function and gives an accurate reading.

Later visit the markets of Jaipur famous for their exquisite carpets, clothes, jewelry etc.

Day 11

Jaipur – Agra

AM leave for Agra, en-route visit the step-well at Abhaneri and Fatehpur Sikri, built by Emperor Akbar in honour of Salim Chisti a famous sufi saint. Its architecture is a blend of Hindu and Islamic styles. The Buland Darwa, erected by Akbar to mark his conquest over Gujarat is a huge gateway.

Agra – Delhi / Depart

Early morning visit the Taj Mahal a UNESCO World Heritage by sunrise. Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Its an image of the Islamic Garden Paradise, an enduring monument of love continually fulfilling beauty in white marble. To the poet Tagore it was " A Tear Drop in the face of eternity". Pietra dura has been extensively used to translate naturalistic forms into decorative patters that complement the majesty of its architecture.

Later visit the Red fort, built on the banks of the river Yamuna. Its imposing red sandstone ramparts form a crescent along the river front and encompass an enormous complex of courtly buildings, ranging in style from the early eclecticism of Akbar to the sublime elegance of Shah Jahan. Visit the gloriously inlaid Musamman Burj, a double-storeyed octagonal tower with clear views of the Taj. Continue.. drive to Delhi. 

On arrival, assisted transfer to the International airport for connect flight to home destination.
