Jantar Mantar
It is one of the largest and best preserved among the five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh II. Built between 1728 and 1734, the observatory has been described as ``the most realistic and logical landscape in stone’’. Some of its instruments are still used to forecast how hot the summer will be and also expected monsoon conditions.
Hawa Mahal
Also known as `Palace of Winds’ and built in 1799. It is a five storeys extraordinary façade of airy openings and windows and was designed in this way to enable veiled women of the palace to watch unnoticed the outside lively street scenes
Amber Fort
11 kms from Jaipur, it was once the capital of the Minas – the original inhabitants of this area. Visitors enjoy elephant ride up the hills to admire massive gateways, pillared pavilions and palaces. The architecture is a fine blend of the Mughal and Rajput schools of architecture, beautifully combining white marble and red stone. The Amber Palace is a splendid complex built within the Amber Fort.
