Cherrapunjee is a favorite must see tourist destination. The wettest place on earth, the annual average rainfall being of about 11,777mm a year. Dreamland of fogs and clouds the slope of sohra towards Bangladesh is famous for living root bridges, very rarely to be found elsewhere in the world. It is also famous for its orange orchards and honey. For visitor it is always an unforgettable experience as sohra and its surrounding have e much to offer, the thangkarang park for instance. Krem Mawmluh Cave

Krem mawmluh cave is located at a distance of around half a kilometer to west of cherrapunjee, is one of the most prominent tourist attraction. The entry of cave is easily found by following the river behind the cement where the river disappears underground. The cave is considered to be a fourth longest cave with a height of 4,503 in the sub continent.


Living Root Bridge

Living Root Bridge is located in tyrna village. Made using Indian rubber tree, also known as ficus elastic, the living bridge is a man made natural wonders. The khasi tribe have trained them to grow from the roots of ancient rubber trees, the root bridges are made from the roots of the ficus elastic tree, which produce a series of secondary roots that are perched atop huge boulders along the river bank to form bridges. The bridges are alive and still growing and gain strength over time
