"The Land of the rising sun", India's easternmost state is named Arunachal Pradesh. The Sun's rays illuminate the high mountain peaks of eastern India with a golden glow. Growing ever brighter, they light up the dewy green forests & fields of the eastern states, signaling songbirds & slumbering Rhinoceros to start their daily foraging. The sun's radiant light rushes west, striking the sleepy-eyed street dwellers of Kolkatta and the temple spires of sea-washed shores.

Morning departure transfer to Delhi domestic airport for connect flight to Guwahati. On arrival at Guwahati airport, meet, assist & transfer to Tezpur.

Morning drive to Dirang. The drive takes you through a magnificent landscape alongside the mighty Kameng River, after completing its turbulent journey, enters Bhalukpong in a serene mood attracting picnickers and adventure enthusiasts. En-route visit the orchid centre at Tipi, famed for Asia’s biggest orchidarium with 7,500 varieties of native orchids, some of them rare and endangered. Also visit the Kalachakra Gompa.

Drive to Tawang through the beautiful landscape to the Tibetan town. En-route visit the Jaswant Garh War Memorial- to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who single-handedly tried to hold off the approaching Chinese from the pass during the 1962 Indo- Chinese War. The sinuous road to Tawang passes through the dragon gates at the awesome heights Sela pass at 13,700 ft.
Overlooking the magical vistas of the gudpi and Chong-Chugmi ranges and Tawang Chu river and valley, Tawang is an important seat of Mahayana Buddhism. On arrival check in at the hotel.

AM full day local sightseeing at Tawang. Here you will visit the famous Buddhist Monastery of the Gelukpa sect, founded in the 17th Century by Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso, a contemporary of the 5th Dalai Lama. Attached to the monastery, is a museum and a library with priceless collections. The stupa-like Tawang War Memorial, built recently, also salutes the heroes of the war.

Morning drive to Bomdila at 3,500 mts. There is a panoramic view of the Himalayas and its frosty Kangto & Gorichen peaks and the pretty Kameng valley with its apple orchards, lush forests & trekking trails. It is home to the Aka (Hrusso), Miji (Sajalong), Monpa, Sherdukpen, and Bogun (Khawas) Tribes. On arrival check into your hotel. Afternoon visit a local market and monasteries.

Bomdila – Kaziranga (250 kms / 8 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where more than 75% of the world’s total population of the great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros can be found. Besides rhinos, the Asiatic Water Buffalo numbering over 1200, elephants over 1000, tigers more than 81, Swamp deer, Barking deer and Hog deer can be seen. About 400 species of birds are found in Kaziranga National Park.. On arrival check into your resort.

Early morning we take an elephant safari in the central range of the park followed by a jeep safari after breakfast. Post lunch we visit Western range of the park by jeep.

Kaziranga – Majuli – Jorhat (90kms/2hrs)
Morning drive to Neematighat for ferry crossing (2hrs) to Majuli - the largest inhabited river island in the world and famous for the Vaishnavite Satras or monasteries. It is nestled between the confluence of the Subansiri and the Brahmaputra River. Visit the monasteries and interface with the tribes on the island. Return to the mainland and drive to Jorhat. Check into your hotel.

Jorhat – Dibrugarh (140 kms/ 3 hrs)
Morning drive for Dibrugarh. En-route visit the 13th Century Ahom monuments at Sivasagar. On arrival check into a Planters bungalow. In the evening enjoy a dance performance by an ethnic dance group.

AM visit a Tea Plantation. Take a walk around the tea plantation to know all about tea - its origin, how it is grown, all about tea tasting and its quality. Later we visit Digboi, the first oil town of South Asia. Visit the Oil Museum and also pay homage at the 2nd World War Allied Forces Cemetery where 200 graves are permanently maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Afterwards drive to Margherita and visit the Singpho village.
Return to Dibrugarh for overnight stay at the Bungalow
Dibrugarh – Wakroo (190 kms / 4 hrs)
Morning drive to Wakro. Enroute visit Empong Village to see the Khampti tribes and also visit the Buddhist Gompa which is considered to be the largest of its kind in the North-east near Namsai- the land of the Khampti tribe who are believed to be the descendants of the Tai Ahoms. They migrated from Thailand during the early part of 13th century to the Lohit district.

AM visit the local Mishmi tribal villages to learn about their rich culture and traditions, schools and interact with the Mishmi tribe. Also visit Parasuramkund – a pilgrimage site where thousands of pilgrims come every year during Makar Sankranti to take a holy dip in the Lohit River. Evening at leisure.
